United States of America is known as a nation of immigrants. The State of Utah is a refugee and immigrant hub where 8.5% of its population are immigrants. They are people who come here as refugees or immigrants seeking for a better life, pursuing their studies or finding employments. Sunrise Educational Forum (SEF), a non-profit organization located in southern Utah, is that premier hub where those immigrants or refugees are assisted for their immigration needs and for their full integration. We achieve this by educating them in what they need to do, giving legal immigration services, being a refugee resettlement haven where English language, computer literacy, and other short courses and social activities are offered for their full integration. We assist children to be enrolled in schools and help adults and the parents of those children find employment or get employment authorization through USCIS so that they can achieve their dreams. In less than three years, we have assisted over forty immigrants in their educational, employment and immigration needs. We are a 501(c)(3) entity and have a public charity status.

Millions of children in the world are homeless, live in the street or are orphans. Africa as a continent, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as a country in particular is no exception. After our recent visit in there, and with the life dream that we have always had, and driven by passion and love that we have for children, and the underprivileged, we are driven by our desire to give back to the country that saw us born, raised or grown up,  and backed up by the fact that our own father was an orphan raised in an orphanage because his parents were killed during a war in the DR Congo when he was a very little baby. Today he is over 70 years old with five children and twelve grandchildren who live in South Africa, DR Congo and in USA. Then, We, his children, have founded Sunrise Educational Forum, a non-profit  organization which will help raise and educate orphans holistically so that they too can become responsible and useful people in the society, making the sun rise in their life just the same way it did in our father’s life, no matter where they live, no matter their race or gender. The Democratic Republic of Congo is just the first country where we want to pilot this before expanding to other countries. A first school and an orphanage are being built on one of our lands to accommodate these orphans and educate them.

Food insecurity is also a major problem in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We have started farms at two different locations. One in the capital city Kinshasa and the other in the western part of DRC, in Malanga Lombe, the Kongo Central province. This will provide food to our children, to the members of the surrounding communities and to the country in general. Our children will also be taught farming skills.

Along with farming where growing crops and raising livestocks are taking place, we will build a tourist city, The Maureen Mehr City or M.M.City, where our guests and visitors will have a place to stay and enjoy the beauty of African country life.
