Our Lands:
Eco-Farming, Guesthouse &
Community Development
Our vision is to create a self-sustaining community
that supports orphaned children, empowers local
families, and brings long-term development to the
surrounding region. While both education and
housing are important parts of our mission, farming
is the first major step currently underway.

Meet the Owners

John and Jane met on a backpacking adventure in Nepal. John, a former sheep shearer, went on the trip to get some clarity about his next adventures in life. Jane — a Peloton instructor — went on the trip to explore the landscape in Nepal.

While on the trip, John and Jane realized that they had one common love — the love for hiking and the love for being outdoors.

Returning back to their home state of Oklahoma, John and Jane hatched a plan to launch a retail store centered around their passions.

While John handled the sourcing of goods and customer service, Jane focused on the web + e-commerce side of the business, building this website in the best design platform on the web — Webflow!

In 1989, John and Jane Doe officially launched Acme Outdoors, the premiere store for outdoor enthusiasts around the state.

To this day, John and Jane return to Nepal yearly to ensure that they never forget their roots and where they came from.

THE LAND: OUR FIRST AND PRIMARY FOCUS
33+ acres. Our current site of growth and impact.
FARMING TODAY
We have already planted over 600 crops and we are developing infrastructure
INFRASTRUCTURE
Our brick-making machine produces up to 2,000 bricks per day, helping us build facilities for cows, pigs, goats, chickents, and more.
SUSTAINABILITY
Our farms provide nutritious food for our children and staff while creating a sustainable source of income so we can support our community long-term.
COMMUNITY
We involve local residents in every step, creating jobs, offering products, and working together to combat food insecurity and build a stronger community.
GENERATIONS
Our children learn valuable agricultural skills that build knowledge, responsibility, and independence for their futures.
WHAT WE ARE CREATING
SCHOOL AND ORPHANAGE
This is where we plan on starting construction this Fall for the Sunrise Educational Forum School. This space is designed to nurture, educate, and care for children. The school will primarily serve the children in our orphanage, providing them with a safe, nuturing, and a high-quality education.
ECO-FARMING
Sunstainable agriculture that feeds our children, supports out staff, and strengthens the local economy.
M.M. CITY GUESTHOUSE
The Maureen Mehr will be a welcoming eco-tourism designation for guests, stakeholders, volunteers, and visitors. The initial development plans include at least ten fully furnished one- and two-bedroom homes, along with three larger suites for special guests and groups. All accommodations will include strong internet access, 24/7 security, and recreational amenities
A SELF SUSTAINING COMMUNITY
Our vision is to build more than an orphanage or a school, we are working to create a self-sustaining community where children, families, and local residents can thrive together. Through farming, education, hospitality, and community partnerships, our land is becoming a place that provides nourishment, opportunity, employment, and long-term hope for future generations.

While donations are essential in helping us build the foundation of this vision, our long-term mission is not to rely entirely on outside support. By developing sustainable programs such as eco-farming, livestock care, and our future guesthouse project, we are creating sources of income that will help support our children, maintain our facilities, and strengthen the surrounding community for years to come.

Every crop planted, every brick produced, and every structure built is part of a larger purpose: creating a community that can grow, sustain itself, and continue serving others with dignity and stability. Donations help us build the land today, but our goal is to create something that will continue giving back to children and communities far into the future.
