Meet the Owners

John and Jane met on a backpacking adventure in Nepal. John, a former sheep shearer, went on the trip to get some clarity about his next adventures in life. Jane — a Peloton instructor — went on the trip to explore the landscape in Nepal.

While on the trip, John and Jane realized that they had one common love — the love for hiking and the love for being outdoors.

Returning back to their home state of Oklahoma, John and Jane hatched a plan to launch a retail store centered around their passions.

While John handled the sourcing of goods and customer service, Jane focused on the web + e-commerce side of the business, building this website in the best design platform on the web — Webflow!

In 1989, John and Jane Doe officially launched Acme Outdoors, the premiere store for outdoor enthusiasts around the state.

To this day, John and Jane return to Nepal yearly to ensure that they never forget their roots and where they came from.

Farming and Eco-Tourism

With our lands in the Democratic Republic of Congo, we have started farms where we are growing different crops and will start raising different livestocks such as cows, pigs, goats, rabbits, chicken, ducks and fishes, to name but a few, to eradicate food insecurity in the surrounding communities in particular and in the country in general. Our orphans and staff will have food and be taught farming skills as well. We have taken upon us the mission to bring relief to food starvation in the country. This will also generate funds to support our orphanage and support the communities.

A small tourist city, The Maureen Mher City or M.M. City, with modern African country houses will be built adjacent to the school and orphanage. This is to generate funds to support the school and orphanage financially as well. They will be modern African country houses with at the beginning at least 10 normal one and two bedrooms fully furnished and three suites to accommodate our different guests and visitors when they visit us. All the rooms will have a very strong internet connection and a free Wi-Fi for the guests upon arrival. Booking for these accommodations will be done online or upon arrival subject to room availability. It will be highly protected by security guards and CCTV Cameras everywhere. We will have a relatively big swimming pool for the guests.
